Mathil decided to give another chance to Spectral Shield Throw, this time with a Bleed Version. Since its introduction in March with Bestiary League, this skill as puzzled everyone who tried to create a successful Build around it, capable of dealing with Endgame Bosses.
I recall the disappointment of many Twitch Streamer and the Rage in some Youtube videos after hours of theory crafting that ended up in nothing. Most concluded that the Damage was not enough and the clear speed was not enjoyable.
Its Mathil third attempt to clean the bad record Spectral Shield Throw set last League, and this time he actually ended up with a pleasant experience. Its clear that this is no Uber Elder farmer, but the build shines in Delves and most Maps. Here’s all you need to know to start the slaughter.
Passive Tree & Bandits
Passive Tree Jewels
The passive tree takes up to Four Cobalt Jewels, you should be concerned about increasing Physical Damage, Bleed Damage, Attack Speed and if possible Elemental Resistances.
Get a Helmet with the Labyrinth enchantment Spectral Shield Throw fires # additional Shard Projectiles, this is mandatory to make the build work. Other stats to look for are Maximum Life and depending on availability additional Elemental Resistances.
An easier and probably cheaper option will be getting a 6 Link Rare Armour either pure Evasion or Armour/Evasion hybrid. Stats you should mainly be looking for are Maximum Life and Elemental Resistances.
This combination of stats will only roll on a pair of Elder Gloves.
Look for Maximum Life, and the following stats:
– Socketed Gems are Supported by Level # Chance To Bleed
– Socketed Gems are Supported by Level # Faster Attacks
– #% increased Attack Speed
– #% increased Damage with Bleeding
While levelling this Character Mathil used an Ewar’s Mirage, pick one at Level 26.
– Get an Ewar’s Mirage.
With tree Green Sockets Prismatic Eclipse will increase Spectral Shield Throw by 36%, adding 20% gained from Onslaught and this weapon gave the skill so much speed that is likely the reason this build work in the first place.
The way Spectral Shield Throw works is by Adding Physical Damage per each 15 Armour or Evasion Rating on your shield. A Rare Tower Shields is by far the best option since the best ones can reach 3000 Armor. At that level they are also quite expensive.
Also look for:
– Maximum Life
– Elemental Resistances
In order to wear a Zodiac Leather you need 197 Dexterity, avoid spending points on the passive tree and use the rings to get there, since these can easily roll more than 30 Dexterity each. Attack Speed and Maximum Life are also mandatory. Look for Elemental Resistances if you are not capped already.
If available for sale, there are a few good Elder mods you want to have on your Rustic Sash, I added them to the link below
Stats to look for:
– Elemental Resistances
– Maximum Life
Finally for the Flasks setup just keep the Quartz, Silver, and Chemist up for maximum damage, and a Quicksilver to keep the fast-paced gameplay.
The Bleed Gladiator Spectral Shield Throw is one of the best builds available for this skill. If your goals are not dealing with the Guardians and the Shaper this is a good option. The clear speed is good and the game-play is fast-paced in part due to the use of Shield Change as the main way to move around. It has good survivability and it clear packs of mobs easily.
Another point in its favour it’s the cost, excluding the Helmet Enchantment the other build requirements are easily obtainable even in Solo self Found. If you play in trade League with a hand full of exalts you will be able to gear the toon with the best items available in the game.
Hope this build review will help you level your character.
If you like or have any suggestion feel free to comment your opinion, give it a thumbs up and share it with other Exiles.
